Is this right for me? :
What to Expect

If you love travel and working with children, and you want to use your time and energy to give back, this is the project for you. It’s one of our Team Trips, where we run a project on fixed dates so individuals from around the world can come together to form a group. Best of all, you’ll become part of our ongoing efforts to support children in need by working hand-in-hand with a group of people. This will help you accomplish so much more in the short time you’ll be in Nepal.

Our Care & Community Team Trip in Nepal runs over fixed dates at different times throughout the year. Once you arrive at the airport, everything onwards is planned for you. Your group will have a full schedule of volunteer work, evening activities, and an exciting weekend trip.

You don’t need previous experience to join. Your main role will be to support the work of local teachers and caregivers, and you’ll have Projects Abroad staff with you at all times.

Not only will you be working with a group to make a difference, but you’ll also gain practical childcare experience for your CV. This can help your future career, and give you interesting points to talk about in applications and interviews.

Childcare :
Aim

The aim of this project is to bring a group of people together to help meet the needs of underprivileged schools and childcare centres in Nepal.

In Nepal, limited funds and resources make teaching large numbers of children and maintaining buildings extremely difficult. This is why we bring volunteers like you to Nepal.

With your help, we’re able to create better learning environments for the children, and support their learning and development. You’ll also help us move closer toward achieving goals like improving literacy and English, and raising hygiene levels. And the renovation work you do helps improve the children’s learning environments.

Join us on a Childcare & Community Work Team Trip in Nepal and help local children by supporting the efforts of local teachers and caregivers.

Childcare :
Typical Day

Your group will work at schools and children’s care centres in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Most of the children at these centres come from underprivileged backgrounds. Furthermore, the centres have limited funding and resources. Staff are in need of helping hands, and the facilities need maintenance.

Kathmandu is a vibrant and somewhat chaotic city. It’s home to stunning architecture, fascinating sights, and friendly people. Positioned at the foot of the renowned Himalayan mountains, Kathmandu is often called the ‘gateway to the Himalayas’ and it attracts thousands of climbers as well as tourists. This is the ideal place to get to know Nepal and its people!
