Dentistry Internship :
Aim

The main aim of this project is to give you the opportunity to experience the dentistry field first-hand.

Many of the teenagers who join us are looking to gain international work experience in the dentistry field. This can either be to prepare for your future career, or to decide whether a job in the healthcare sector is right for you. This trip can help you decide, as you’ll observe dentists in action at hospitals.

In Sri Lanka, there are still communities who lack access to healthcare. Besides a lack of access to healthcare, many people also remain unaware of how they can prevent diseases. At medical outreaches, you’ll help by sharing knowledge about the importance of oral hygiene, and how to prevent oral diseases.

Join us on this High School Special in Sri Lanka and gain dental work experience while also becoming part of our ongoing efforts to improve healthcare services.

Dentistry Internship :
Typical Day

Colombo lies along the coast, and has a long history as a port city. Here, you’ll see an interesting mix of old and new, with beautiful colonial style buildings alongside high rises and shopping malls. Colombo’s interesting history and culture can be experienced best through its museums, food, and art.

During your stay, you’ll work in various healthcare facilities. You’ll also attend a two-day medical outreach where you will visit a local community centre. The hospitals you will work at are located in Panadura and Horana, which are one hour out of Colombo. Conditions at the hospitals will be more basic than you may be used to.
